Zircon Rocks ON
aka "Gus"
Now that Gus has
turned a year. Cheryl and I had Gus's heart checked by a
Specialist.
We are pleased to announce Gus has a normal heart.
His heart murmur is no more an issue. Looks like Gus out
grew it.
Thank you Dr. Schott for your thorough examination with all
our Zircon dogs.
Gus had a real
tuff go for the first few months.
He was born with a detached placenta, with a very short
imbecile-cord, by the time I could get him tied off he lost
quit a bit of blood.
Gus was fading he was too weak to suck even though he was
going through the motions. I could see he was not gaining,
so off to the vets where he was treated immediately.
I had to tube feed him every 2 hours day and night. Also
made sure he sucked on his mom in-between the tubing.
Three days after I worked with Gus he turned for the better.
He grew leaps and bounds.
At Gus's first vet visit he was diagnosed with a significant
heart murmur. Just a few days later I noticed Gus limping.
Back to the vets for x-rays.
Yup he broke his leg and was in a cast for several weeks.
Needless to say Gus soon became my pup under the arm and
beside me at night. He went with me everywhere day and
night.
To this day I can't even tell which leg he broke, nor could
anyone else. As for his heart it will be monitored as he
keeps growing.
Residing in Winnipeg with his new family Cheryl & Rob Ridley
and their two children.
Gus will always have a special place in my heart. He is by
far a very special puppy.
He sure has energy, so much fun to watch them play. To funny
for words....
Thank you Cheryl for bringing Gus over for all the visits.
What a happy boy, he looks terrific!! |
